Thirty Years of Misery is an easy to play game on the Thirty Years War of 1618-1648 for up to 4 players. Players on the same side must coordinate and work together to win the war, but the victory conditions only allow a single faction within the victorious alliance to win the game. Carddriven mechanics with lots of events, random chit pull based turn order and combat resolution using custom dice ensures a strong narrative and lots of thematic unpredictability. As befitting a bitter religious war, players are striving not only to secure military control over the various political entities of Germany but also to enforce their religious policies in them. -description from the publisher
