Busted! is a satirical high-school board game set inside the crowded halls, classrooms, restrooms, and stairwells of Hard Knox High. One player may take on the role of the Faculty, while the remaining players are Students trying to survive the school day by breaking rules, looting lockers, and collecting Friends-without getting Busted! or sent to BIG TROUBLE. Students move freely around the school board by rolling dice, navigating hallways, stairwells, and rooms in any direction. Along the way, they can land on Action Spaces, which represent risky (and often ridiculous) school-day antics-anything from looting an office to making a desperate escape. Each Action Space requires a die roll to succeed. Successful actions reward Students with Friends, which function as victory points. The Faculty roams the board trying to catch Students-they do not roll dice, their movement and everything else is set for each figure. If they land on a student, the student must make a SLIP roll to get away - failure means they are Busted! When a Student is busted, the Faculty takes their Friends, setting that Student back and creating constant tension between risk and reward. The game is divided into class periods. At the end of each class, Players are graded based on the Friends they currently have. These grades accumulate over the course of the game, and the players with the highest total grade at the end wins. Throughout the game, both Students and Faculty play cards that grant bonuses, special abilities, movement tricks, penalties, and last-second escapes. These cards add chaos, surprise, and tactical choices as players scramble to stay ahead-or bring others down. Busted! blends strategy, push-your-luck decisions, and player interaction into a fast, chaotic experience where every hallway is dangerous, every decision is risky, and no one stays safe for long. -description from the designer
