Payload 🚀 is a tactical strategy card game where you run your own space company. Compete for valuable Payload contracts, build ambitious rockets, hire skilled Engineers, and launch at the perfect moment. Every decision matters. Build too slowly and your rivals may end the game first. Launch too early, and your rocket may not be ready. You don't need to know rocket science to play. The game is easy to learn, while drawing inspiration from real rocket engineering to create a fun and competitive experience. The game in brief: Payload is for 1-5 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about 45-60 minutes. Your goal is to score the most victory points by launching Payloads, building a strong team of Engineers, saving Rocket Parts, and managing your money well. Each game begins with players checking the weather at the launch pad. Next, players start bidding for valuable Payload contracts. Winning the right contract earns you money and shapes the rocket you want to build. As the game unfolds, you'll buy Rocket Parts, hire Engineers, improve your rocket, and use special Operations to stay one step ahead of your rivals. Every turn feels like a step toward liftoff as players block, outthink, and outbuild each other. And when your rocket is finally ready, everything comes down to the final countdown. The launch is a big decision. A stronger rocket is safer, but waiting too long could cost you the game. Launch at the right moment, roll the dice, and see if your Payload reaches orbit. Payload stays true to real rocket concepts but keeps everything simple and fun (and competitive!). -description from designer
