“A farming game by people who don't know how to farm-because neither do you.” Daddy Bought the Farm… Now What?!? is a worker placement game, featuring 6 siblings who have just inherited a plot of land from their father. He had always meant to start a family farm, but never got around to it. Then, he died. Now, it's up to the siblings to make his dream a reality. However, there are plenty of obstacles to overcome – One, there's still a pretty hefty loan from the bank to pay back, and only 5 years to do it. Two, none of the siblings have ever farmed before. And three, the siblings don't necessarily like each other. Up to 6 players can play as one of the siblings, using what skills they DO have (cause don't a single one of them actually know how to farm!) to get the family farm up and running. They can also have the siblings reach their own selfish objectives, and keep the other siblings from reaching theirs. Players are able to increase their skills in Animal Husbandry, Building, and Crop growing to build and repair farm buildings, raise cows and sell their milk, and grow and sell crops. They'll have to contend with locusts, animal rights activists, and even taxes if they want to be successful. They'll also have to watch out for the other players, as the siblings can steal from each other. The game can be played solo or by up to 6 players, and either competitively or cooperatively. The siblings have their own skills, which become supercharged when they have maxed out their Karma (by helping each other in a cooperative game), or Schadenfreude (by hurting each other in a competitive game), which increases it's replay value, as each sibling's gameplay will look different. -description from the designer
