Rust and Revenue is a solo roll-and-write game inspired by the economic tension of 18XX titles, distilled into a streamlined, one-sheet format. Using just three dice and a pencil, you'll invest in railroads, build track, and upgrade trains-all while competing against two streamlined AI opponents with distinct behavior. Each turn, you roll three dice to choose a company and an action-build, buy, or invest. Shares become more expensive over time, and companies receive dividends based on route performance. As newer trains enter the game, older ones rust, pushing you to optimize timing and anticipate obsolescence. Each action pushes a railroad to produce less revenue for the President of that company. Timing share and operational actions is nuanced and based on the dice and the game state. With multiple maps, procedural setup, and minimalist rules, Rust and Revenue offers meaningful decisions in a compact, replayable system. It rewards players who enjoy economic planning, route optimization, and clever long-term thinking-without needing a full table or multi-hour commitment. Designed for solo players who love 18XX, cube rails, or tight economic puzzles, this game captures the spirit of railroad expansion with elegant constraints and a touch of rust. -description from the designer
