From BoardGameGeek

Adorable, ferocious animals appear out of nowhere and survival is not an option. You can't fight them, you can't reason with them, but you might trick them into fighting each other while you slip away. Outsmart the chaos before you're the last one left… and the one who pays the price. Ratel is a climbing game where players try to shed their hands by playing cards with values from +5 to -5. Cards must be played in ascending order, but each card has a twist: positive numbers are strong but add that many cards to your hand, while negative numbers are weak but let you discard extra cards. The trade-off between strength and penalty is constant, and the goal is to escape before the last player is left holding their hand and their fate.
