Taxi is a light strategy, route building, tile placement game with a little bit of take that mechanics mixed in. Players play the role of taxi drivers, navigating a growing cityscape. The goal is simple yet challenging: create an unobstructed route from a starting location to an ending location, as shown on your Fare card, using a variety of road segment cards laid out in a shared grid. But the road to success is filled with unexpected detours! Your opponents are crafty, setting up roadblocks like parades and traffic jams. And if that wasn't enough, watch out for those special cards that could have you sidelined for speeding or making way for an ambulance. It's a race to be the first to build an unobstructed path, and maintain it for one round of play. The first player to do that, wins. -description from the publisher
Taxi: The Game of "Fare" Play has 2 videos from 2 creators: 1 review and 1 how-to-play guide. They date from March 2025.
To learn the rules, start with "How To Play Taxi" by Mark Miller, which runs 10 min.
For an opinion before you buy, start with "Taxi Preview - Cabbie, Take Me To My Thoughts" by Merry Married Meeples.
If you like it, try Titan, Bandido, Dice Manor or Tsuro, which share several of its mechanics.
