Thalamus is an intense abstract strategy game where players are aiming to eliminate their opponents by navigating and manipulating an ever-changing board that is filled with dangerous Deflector Disks. Players take turns utilising one of the six available actions: MOVE, PUSH, PULL, SHOOT, ROTATE, or REMOVE to trap opponents and avoid being eliminated themselves. Thalamus has simple yet strategically rich and exciting gameplay designed to invoke feelings of traditional abstract strategy games. -description from the designer
Thalamus has 2 videos from 2 creators: 1 review and 1 how-to-play guide. They date from January to July 2025.
To learn the rules, start with "How to Play Thalamus" by Chairman of the Board, which runs 14 min.
For an opinion before you buy, start with "Thalamus Review" by Don't Be Board.
If you like it, try Chess, SHŌBU, Checkers or That Time You Killed Me, which share several of its mechanics.
