The whole universe seems to be under the attack of a mysterious menace. All Time and Space may be at great risk. Shifters have to form a team and travel from world to world and age to age to identify the problem... And deal with it as permanently as possible! Shifters is a solo game or a cooperative 2-player game. You will play a campaign, choosing your way among various scenarios. Each and every time you arrive on a new planet, you'll send your team to fight against local opponents, having to adapt to their particularities. You might fail this hard mission... But a "Die and Retry" mechanism will allow you to start over and over again, becoming stronger every time, until you totally succeed! Beside the "Rogue-Lite" aspect, Shifters is a card game with an innovative "Shift" mechanism: timing will be very important to trigger your card effects efficiently. Place them on a line, and they will move one space at a time each turn. Craft the board so each slot triggers different effects the way you want. When a card arrives at the end of the line, it will also trigger special effects. Handle the timing of how you place your cards and when to get them back in your hand to destroy every enemy in the current area. Then you'll move on to the next one.
