For an opinion before you buy, start with "Dreadnought by SPI (1975)" by Gilbert Collins. To see it played, watch "Dreadnought back on the table" by Camp Sawyer, one of 4 playthroughs.
If you like it, try Napoleon at War: Four Battles, Blue & Gray Deluxe Edition and Wagram: The Peace of Vienna, 5-6 July 1809, also by Irad B. Hardy, or The Fall of Rome, also by John Young.
