From BoardGameGeek

Blokus Shuffle: Pokémon Edition takes the classic strategy of Blokus and mixes in a deck of Pokémon-themed action cards. The object of the game hasn't changed - play as many of your pieces as possible onto the board by following the one rule of Blokus: each piece you play must touch another of your pieces only at the corner. But now each player has a deck of Pokémon action cards to give them an advantage. On your turn you'll play a Pokémon action card, then play your piece, then refill your hand. Each card features a specific Pokémon's special attack like Quick Attack, Iron Defense, or Confuse Ray. When no one can play anymore pieces, the game ends and the player with the fewest unplayed pieces wins. -description from the designer
