Ancient Shadows: The Shaman in the Demon Village

Ancient Shadows: The Shaman in the Demon Village

From BoardGameGeek

The young shaman must face dangers of all kinds in the village of NewCastle overrun by demons. The search for magical items to activate the powerful talisman is crucial, and time is running out. A map-based, dice and pencil exploration adventure. How to play The game is a "roll and write and click" (the device is an integral part of the game, along with the use of physical dice and the printed map). Each level involves exploring a map of the demon-infested village, where essential items for casting spells, opening doors and fighting demons are hidden. For each room, we have to roll the dice and choose which action to take, between opening a chest, taking an item, facing a pitfall and breaking down doors. The fights are the most interesting part, as we have to compare our dice roll with that of the device that represents the demons. To make things even more complicated, there are 3 levels of flooding for each map, which will force us to use the freeze points we have been given wisely. A challenge in which the device sets the exit point for each game and determines where to hide magic items and demons, making infinite combinations possible. We win when we have found all the items that make up the powerful talisman and chased the demons out of the village forever. There are different endings and different combinations of objects, chosen each time by the device. A unique adventure, but always different. -description from the designer
