Taproot is a light abstract puzzle strategy game designed for two players that takes 2 minutes to learn and 10 minutes to play. To set up the game, one player arranges the rock tokens and starting plant in the play area while the other player places the water tokens in the game box, gives it a shake to randomize the tokens, and then spills them out onto the play area. Starting with the player who most recently watered a plant, players take turns connecting root pieces to the starting plant, aiming to collect as many water tokens of their specific color as possible. Players must strategically avoid rocks, while also being mindful not to inadvertently help the other player with their root placements. The game comes to an end when either player has collected all of their water tokens or no more roots can be placed. Whether you seek a leisurely, relaxing experience to savor with a cup of tea and casual conversation, or desire an intense, strategic face-off where every root placement counts, Taproot delivers a unique and enjoyable gaming experience each time you sit down to play! -description from the designer
