An easy-to-learn baseball simulation where the game player acts as manager of one or both teams: choosing the starting pitcher, batting order and defensive assignments - and making strategic choices such as runner advancement, steal attempts, sacrifice bunts, squeeze plays and defensive positioning). The game uses player cards, stadium cards and three dice. The dice (one six-sided die and two ten-sided dice) are rolled to generate a number between 100 and 699, with the value of the roll determining which card is consulted: 100-299: The current pitcher. 300-499: The current batter. 500-509: The Rare Play table. 510-599: One of the current defensive players, according to the tens digit (510-519 = pitcher; 520-529 = catcher; 530-539 = first baseman; etc.) 600 or higher: The Stadium Card. Results are listed directly on the player and stadium cards. No secondary charts are required. All player cards are normalized to league averages to create extremely realistic results, even when pitting teams or players from different eras against each other. For solo play, the rules include an Auto Manager section that specifies strategic decisions made by the opposing manager in any game situation. These rules include tables for runner advancement, steal attempts, bunting, holding the runner, pitching around the hitter and pinch hitting. -description from the designer
